The species entries are written to stay true for years. Field notes are the opposite: what was actually there this month, at which destination, what arrived early, what has not been seen since the last rains. They are dated, they are one person’s observation, and they are not corrected into hindsight.
The first notes are being written. In the meantime the marine life index carries the per-location months and depths for every species, and the destination pages carry what has been recorded at each.
