A flat bright green crab with hairy legs, wedged into coral crevices and out grazing algae at night.
About 4 cm across. A flat, shiny green carapace finely sculpted with whitish material on the projections, spoon-shaped green claws tipped with white, and paler hairy walking legs.
The other clinging crab here has prominent nodes on a reddish-brown carapace rather than a smooth green one.
To about fifty metres, most abundant behind the reef, spending the day in caves, crevices and coral branches and sometimes under anemone tentacles. At night it scavenges and grazes algae.
It is harmless, and it is heavily collected for the aquarium trade because it eats bubble algae.
