Carapace to about 6 cm long with legs spanning about 10 cm. A triangular body with a very long serrated rostrum, golden to cream with brown or black lengthwise lines, reddish legs and blue-violet claw tips.

Those violet claw tips on the long serrated rostrum separate it from the other Caribbean neck and decorator crabs.

Three to nine metres on rock, coral and rubble. Nocturnal and territorial.

The thing worth watching for is where it sits: among the swollen pseudotentacles of the branching anemone, alongside Pederson and spotted cleaner shrimps. It cleans fish itself.

Ratings are per location: 1 means found on most dives that look for it, 5 means a handful of records. Where enough dives have been logged the figure is calculated from them; otherwise it is an editorial estimate, and says so. We publish habitat and destination, not the dive site.
