Pale pink with a white line along the back; almost always on a magnificent anemone.
To about 10 cm, pale pink to peach with a narrow white stripe running along the top of the back from between the eyes to the tail, and a single white bar behind the head. It is the smallest and palest anemonefish in the region. The similar Amphiprion sandaracinos has the dorsal stripe but no head bar and is a deeper orange.
It is closely tied to the magnificent sea anemone Heteractis magnifica and to a lesser extent Macrodactyla doreensis, and groups of six or more share a single large host. It is less aggressive towards divers than most anemonefishes and rarely charges the dome port, which makes it easier to work with than the ocellaris or Clark’s. Recorded from about 3 to 35 m.
