Brittle stars and basket stars: five arms, a small central disc, and a habit of living under or inside something else.
Most of the group is out of sight by day, under rubble or wound through a sponge, with only the arm tips showing. The sea fan brittle star is the one seen in daylight, coiled around the branches of a gorgonian and often matching it.
After dark the group changes shape. The basket star that spent the day folded into a fist opens into a net a metre across. The green brittle star hunts small fish, and is the one that will bite.
